Cellphones and other electronic devices are things used at all times in our society. These devices were initially used only to communicate with other people or for entertainment purposes. However, in this day and age, electronics are used not only to communicate, but also to fulfill assignments given by teachers. In this sense, technology is a necessity to many people. That being said, there is no real need to buy a new model every time one comes out. A new model is, at most times, a want and not a need. The new model may look nicer, but its functioning is not dramatically changed. However, when an electronic device begins to malfunction and cannot be fixed, there is a need for a new model. We depend so much on electronics nowadays that sometimes a new model is necessary to stay up to date with our work. What people need to do is distinguish between wanting a new model because "everyone is talking about it" or "everyone has one" and needing a new model because they truly cannot use the device they currently have.
