Is having the latest technology a want or a need?
How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?

Breaking Addiction
People our age spend an average of 9 hours on their phones each day (http://www.cnn.com/2015/11/03/health/te … se-report/) during the week you could delete the social media you use the most in order to break habits. When you see that using your phone is only a commodity, it will lessen your need for a phone in general, and in turn buying a new one.
I think this is a very good point that we need to get off our phones, but I feel your statistic is a bit off, since we have 7 hours of school every day and about 2-3 hours of homework, so I think that average might be a bit lower than 9 hours
Very true. I think if you can call and text when you need to, the rate will go down. Social media is very distracting and if all of us cut down on it our phones will last longer resulting in less phone purchases which means we'll have a lower carbon footprint.
zack i used a source blame cnn not me
I agree. We use our phones way too much because we are obsessed with knowing what is going on around the world. We need to do things like our school work first instead of worrying about what everybody else is doing on social media.
