Easy Things Everyone Can Do

There are so many things pretty much everyone can do, especially in first world countries. During the winter time instead of turning up a heater, just load up on blankets and layer in clothing. While the opposite for in the summer time, go with less of and lighter materials to keep cool instead of using the AC. Finding replacements for everyday wasteful activities can add up when you do it long term and get others to join you. Things we do that are just plain lazy are easily avoidable and in the long term can have a huge impact on the earth. Most of the people in the world don't have the luxury of things like phones and fans, so think before you think you need to use things.

Yeah those are definitely good ways to stay warm, and cold during the respective seasons. People think that the best option is to turn on every appliance in the house, when the reality is that they can just do what you said, and put on warm clothes or the opposite. People need to think about the environment before acting.

I think the heart of this discussion remains in the environmental impacts associated with producing energy in order to heat the house—something that can create smog and pollute water and air. While the human population could minimize energy consumption, not heating and cooling your house will only slightly decrease energy usage (even when implemented on a global level). Thus, moving toward environmentally sustainable renewable energy, such as windmills, photovoltaic cells (solar panels), hydrologic dams, and geothermal heat, would be the best way to decrease environmental repercussions while still upholding the standard of living that coincides with a developed country. With the increasing technological breakthroughs in green technology, the prices have deflated in recent years. This makes most families able to afford implementing green technology that creates little to no greenhouse emissions—making the environmental shift toward green energy a more plausible solution than having to bundle up or sweat in varying seasons.
