Is having the latest technology a want or a need?
How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?

Want want want
My life is filled with wants. Americans always seem to want the newest and shiniest thing on the market. Granted, there are people who take it to new levels with conserving things and I applaud them. I am in the first category. I get lots of gifts on Christmas and sometimes I want to run to the mall and buy a cute top or jeans. I have a closet almost full with clothes I don't wear. Maybe I can give them to Goodwill or another charity. I could have my sisters go through and pick what they want to wear.
I agree that you should donate your clothes if you don't wear them. There are people that can't afford even basic things and it could really help them. Also if you own some stuff that you don't use like toys you could give them to a charity and people who can't afford a simple christmass gift for their children could give those toys to them.
I do the same thing. I collect a lot of stupid little nicknacks just because I like their aesthetic, however, they're clutter and will just eventually end up in a landfill in twenty years. And in the store, I feel the temptation of consuming, consuming, consuming, everywhere. How do we curb this temptation and reduce this mass consumerism in the population?
