In our modern day society, where capitalism runs the world, they bank on everyone's "wants" from the newest phone to name brand clothing. What we need to focus on is whether we "need" that item or not, because each new item that comes in means that there is one old item going out to the landfills and negatively impacting our environment. Personally, I am still using a two year old phone and can live with it, however my weakness is clothing purchases. Going forward, I will have to consider each purchase carefully as I look at my overflowing drawers and shrinking wallet.
