Is having the latest technology a want or a need?
How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?

Should We Be Appreciating Things More?
The difference between "want" and "need" is pretty simple, until you set yourself loose in a store. When it comes to owning or acquiring certain things, us people/humans would often use the term "want" and "need" indistinguishable. I think a need is generally referred to, in economics, or as something necessary for a person to survive. Subsequently, a "want" refers to something that a person desires, either right now or in the future. How I picture a "need" is having a roof over your head, enough food and water to maintain your health, and basic health and clothes. But usually everything goes beyond this. Like getting a big house name brand clothes, fancy food and drinks and maybe a new car is a desire for pleasure. Personally, we have to start appreciating what we have and not show off because we have the tendency to always get the latest new anything.
