I think having the latest technology is a need because the technology is improving and getting more efficient as time progresses. With the latest technology we can go on a website and have discussions like this. If you use the technology efficiently and to your own benefit you can use it to organize your things, study, research, and communicate.  With the new technologies, everything is becoming faster, the phones and computers take only seconds or less to do tasks that would take a lot longer for humans to do. I think if people always gets the newest technology and throw away their older tech that is still very good, that would have an impact to pollution in the environment. Although having the latest technology comes with a price of damaging the environment I think it is still a need.
