Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint

stephanie99

After filling the research of carbon that I used, My total footprint is 29196 kgs of CO2 per year, compared to an average of 2338 kgs for China, and 3791 kg (= 8358 lb) worldwide. I found that the carbon that I used is really much, even over the average carbon that per people used in China and also much higher than the average number in the world. The reason I got such a high number is that I traveled several times around the world, and the flight time is such a long time.  This research reminded me that we need to save the energy, don’t waste them or we’ll have no resource to survive, also travel less times.
