Technology is a need for advancing humans. Throughout history, humans have used technology to further advance themselves. For example, without the invention of the airplane, humans would not have been able to travel to other countries quickly. With the invention it has allowed diplomats to travel between countries, thus enabling trade (also sped up with airplanes), and allowed different cultures to interact. Though technology can be used to help improve society it isn’t always a need for a person to always have new tech. Personally, I only get new tech when mine breaks.

i think that technology is a need because technology is a way of communicating and a way of doing research. having technology would help us create life saving technologies for cancer and for other sicknesses

Although technology is a need for the advance,net of the human race, it is certainly not a need for the survival of it. For example- humans do not NEED to travel between countries by airplane to survive. Humans do not NEED to drive cars between towns and states to survive. Humans have come to believe that technology, the factor that most contributes to global warming and climate change, is necessary for human life simply because we have grown accustomed to being dependent upon technology. Because we do not NEED most technology that affects our carbon footprints in order to survive, it should be easy for humans to cut back on their use of technology, at least a little, in order to save ourselves from the dangers of global warming and climate change.

It seems that some technology is a necessity such as medical research and much more.  However, do you find that occasionally you buy a item just because you want to upgrade your technology even though what you currently have works just fine. I think that thinking about the items we buy and trying to e-cycle what we are discarding is a good way to help out.  Not only will it save you money to hold on to that iphone a little longer but it will help out the environment as well.  Electronics can be highly toxic to the environment so keeping them out of the landfill is important.  Most cities or counties have free e-recycling to help out when we need to upgrade our technology. Properly recycled electronics can be turned into car parts and the plastic reused in molding of materials.  Understanding the difference between wants and needs can help us make better decisions. When we have made our decisions recycling our old electronics safely is very important.

I agree with you Christian, technology is very important for the advancement of human life. Technology allows for humans to learn, innovate, and create. Especially education, many students now are able to use technology to help them learn faster and easier. Online textbooks, videos, and applications are all used to advance human life.
