Some people say that technology is a want because people can live without it especially in some poor countries. It is true that technology is not needed for survival but I believe that it is a need to make our life better. In our real life, technology brings us so much convenience. Without technology, we can not even share our opinions on this discussion board so I think that it is really important for the advancement of human life and it helps us to learn and innovate.

I do agree that technology is a vital part of today's life and that most people need it in an every day basis. However, I think when talking about carbon dioxide emissions it does not mean that we have to dispose of all our posssesions or go back to a world without technology. Instead we, as humans, have to try to reduce the unessesary behavior which is altering the carbon cycle and adding more CO2 to the atmosphere. An example of this would be not buying a new technological device when you still have a workable device, or leaving the lights on when you know you won't be in the room. Yes, we all have our needs and that we cannot change, but we definitely can modify our wants and behavior to reduce carbon footprints.
