I think in most cases technology is a need. When I think of technology in terms of whether it is a want or need, I think of emergency situations. For example, if one of your loved ones is involved in a plane crash and you want to contact them to see if they are okay and if you want to contact them immediately you would need technology. Another example could be medicine because in a surgery there is so much room for human error, but they now have robots that can perform surgeries without errors.

I agree with you in the fact that the new edition of technology to our daily lives had made it easier to do task that we could not possibly do before. But I do think we can reduce our our entertainment use of electronics down to using it less when we want to, saving time for hte things that we need do.  Reguardless I think that with the new advances in technology in some ways it is a necessity to our way of life. I like how you use the example of medicine with has been advanced in order to help cure disewases and things by the advancement of technology. Great point!
