Is having the latest technology a want or a need?
How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?
Wants or Needs? >
Technology
Through modern advances in technology, there are aspects that develop that aren't necessary for every day usage. For instance, a cellular phone is a great way to communicate with one another, but it has developed into a device capable of so much more. Through this change people have become less social in real life and intern do not gain the communication skills they need in order to survive in the adult world. Pew Research Center conducted a survey stating that "Nearly half of U.S. smartphone users say they can’t live without their phones". I believe phones are on the middle ground for wants and needs.
