Is having the latest technology a want or a need?
How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?

Wants/Needs
Technology is both a want and a need. If you're talking about the newest iPhone, that's a want. If you're talking about television, computers, and things like heart monitors, then it's a need. I only get a new cellphone maybe once ever 2-3 years, and new laptops are even less than that. To be honest, I don't pay attention or think about the environmental impact before I buy new technology.
I feel as if television is not a need because many people can live perfectly fine without television. If you use television for news or a computer for news then you can eliminate one of them. Eliminating any form of technology can help the environment and if it's not like or death or don't believe it is a need
