I believe that technology is both a want and a need depending on the way one uses it. One-way technology can be a need is for commutation with family, friends, school, and news. If the technology we have today did not exist we wouldn't know how family or friends are doing right away just from a phone call or a text but we would have to wait at least three to five days to get a letter back in the mails. Another way technology is a need is for important news or weather updates. I we didn't have cell phones, iPads, and computers we wouldn't know if a life threating event was about to happen or for instance if the hurricane would be hitting us or not. Technology can also be a want because every time the new iPhone comes out a lot of people will be willing to buy it because it’s the new trend or because everyone they know is getting it even though the phone they got 6 months ago works perfectly fine. I think that technology can be a really good thing and a bad thing it just depends how certain people choose to do with it.

I agree with this. One one hand, technology can be a life saver. On the other hand, people can become addicted. There is always some story in the news where someone's life has been saved because of modern technology. Things like social media can help alert people to potentially major events, like hurricanes. It also helps people stay in contact with distant family. Location services on cell phones are also very helpful. Technology becomes a "want" when it comes to things like video game systems. People can spend hours playing games and they don't realize that this can have a negative consequence on the environment.

I agree I believe that if people survived without phones once in this world we can do it again. I think that as a society we have become spoiled to the fact that if we are lonely we push a few buttons and we instantly have friends. Phones have slowly eaten away at our ways to socialize, to fix problems. Phones also hurt our environment and even though they may be great now they could be our ending one day. If you ask someone what they would do without their phones they start to freak out, but here is what we can do without them: we can talk, we can look outside and help the world that brought us here in the first place.

i agree that technology can be very helpful when it comes to determining the weather and contacting family members and friends. However, i would not consider it a need; people survived a very long time without checking their phones every ten seconds. Technology is so popular because of the instant gratification. Everybody wants whats new and popular. technology is an addiction and that can be proved because everyone knows that sense of panic you feel when you think you lost your phone. The addiction is so bad that we become blinded from the harmful facts that technology is causing.

I personally think think that Technology is a want because of the way its used, its used a lot for families people and ect but to you really need technology in that way in Televison Phones A/C no you don't. If we go back to the past they did fine without all of that and that means that so could we.
