How Electronic Devices Affect the Environment
At first, having the latest technology was a want, because it was getting better and cooler. Now, having the latest technology is pretty much a need, because we are so addicted to our electronics, that we have to have the best ones out there; or else we won't be satisfied enough.
I personally don't get new electronics that often. For example, I've had the same iPad for 7 years and the same phone since I got it, which is about 2 years.
The environmental impact on the purchases of technology, is the electronic waste. When throwing away electronics, people are most likely doing it wrong. When they are not recycled properly, the raw materials inside them leak toxic chemicals into the ground, spoiling both our water and food supply for decades, at least. Spoiling of our water can lead to being poisoned, which can make you sick. Spoiling of our food supply can lead to the loss of local or organic food and the crops dying, which would be terrible for farmers. That is why it is very important to recycle electronics properly.
On another note, they ways you can brake your addiction from you electronic device, is:
-Make a plan on how long you can use it daily.
-Put it away once you're done using it.
-Make alternative activities.
You can always get rid of your problems with some time, but before you do, make sure you know how they affect(ed) the environment.
