Is having the latest technology a want or a need?
How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?
Wants or Needs? >
The way of using is everything!
Things we considered a want a few years ago, have slowly become a need. Also i don't believe that anyone who lives in our days doesn't have at least one TV, computer or a car. Let's take car as an example. Our century was the start of everyone owning a car. A few years before that, people considered that car was a want of the rich people and normal people can't afford to own a car. People were relying on public transportation to get from a place to another. But then, normal people started to own cars and in our days, people use it for too many tasks even if they don't need it. Looking from another point of view, humans always try to make things as simple as possible, so this was the beginning of the abusive use of their stuff. Day by day, people introduce a lot of things in their daily routine, and the more they use it, the more they will rely on it. This made the contemporary man an ignorant about its negative effect on nature. In my point of view, I think that we don't need to give up on our stuff which we rely on, we just need to use it properly so that our impact will be lowered enough to be negligeable.
