Is having the latest technology a want or a need?
How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?

Iphone X, the devastating outcome of Ultra-Consumerism
I believe there aught to be a change in how we look at objects like smartphones (at least as a start). The norm has to change, the planet can barely keep up with even the simplest of things (phones in this case) of modern technology. The outcome is pollution and even more pollution. There should be some sort of countering force, against these immensly powerful consumerbased companies, which should be just as powerful in all communities.
An example of this could be the anti-smoking advertisements that are (usually in most countries) on the packages of each carton. Perhaps we could demand similar (according to each product) ads on each 'useless' (here I'm talking about the general consumer of such consumer-products).
I agree. A lot of consumer adds are just B.S. For example, Juul, which is an alternative to smoking. Yet, people still do it, and are addicted. So, it is pretty much the same thing. The iPhone X is dope and all, but the iPhone 5 works just as fine. There really is no need for a 1,000 dollar phone. I mean, yaay, thanks Apple, you fi9nally came out with a phone with no button! Congrats!!! What's next? No headphone jack? Or maybe, 3 cameras instead of 2? Yeah, maybe 4 while your at it.
