Having the latest technology is a want because you just feel the "need" of having a new phone or computer or other electronic devices when actually you just want them because everybody else does and also because society influence a lot on your mind with all the publicity telling you that you need to improve the things that you have, and personally I that it is completely absurd because if the things that you own are still good and working why change them? you better use them until there is really a need of changing them before that will be a waste and contributes to damaging the environment.

I completely agree although I would like to add that part of the problem is the electronic companies. In order to make us buy new phones, etc they change the cords, forcing us to throw away our old ones, get new ones, and over all increase our carbon footprint.
