Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Farmers market support
Hello i'm Christopher from Florida, in America. With the constant issue of large carbon footprints, I really wanted to think of a unique way to reduce them. A topic that never gets much recognition however is farmers markets. I find that by supporting your local farmers market there are many benefits to be had. To begin with, by choosing to shop at your local farmers market there would be a decrease in size pertaining to carbon footprints. I say this because most people have no idea that the food that they go to the grocery store to buy is actually transported across the country. If you consider how much food is transported all across the country and factor in the horrid amount of pollution being released in the environment per trip, it truly becomes a scary thought of how much pollution can enter our environment. On average food travels 1,500 miles just to reach your local grocery store. By choosing to buy your local goods from a farmers market, you are not only saving money by paying less for the same good, but you are also gaining fresher produce. Many people have n o clue where their food comes from. If you were to support your local farmers market there would be no question about where exactly it came from. In the end I would love to see more people embrace farmers markets and all of the benefits they can bring.
