How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?

Are new phones really necessary?

I feel that phones in general are a need as they can be used for safety purposes and basic communication. However is it really necessary to buy the newest model phone? For example if you have an Iphone 6 that works perfectly fine, why would you need to buy a newer one? It is bad for the environment.
