My parents with not purchase me a new phone unless I really need one because my current one is not functioning.  Looking at this from a different perspective, this has really helped me reduce my carbon footprint because then I did not use the machines and factories to provide me with a new phone. If you are trying to reduce your carbon footprint, then do not purchase the latest cell phone model if not needed.

Yes, definitely. Technology is developing and changing throughout the time. There's a bunch of new phone models coming out every month and I feel like everyone is purchasing them although they don't need them. Some of them bought a brand new Iphone X just because they wanted others to know that they're wealthy. If you don't really need it, you can just save your money for further goals in the future (which is better). Thank you for reducing your carbon footprint and saving the earth. I agree with you, we won’t need a new cell phone unless the current one is still working. I’ve seen a lot of people paying for a new phone when their phone is still working. One of the person that I know purchased at least 2 phones per year. Every year, Apple always release a new cellphone model, so people throw away their old phones to get the latest model to show people that they are cool (no offense). I think that it is kind of ridiculous to do so, because they are wasting metals and they are killing the home of some animals. Before purchasing, they need to think of nature. Metals should be used for something else other than phones. It’s a good thing that technology is improving every year, but there are also side effects as I just mentioned. I've visited a zoo in Melbourne, and they said that by donating your old phones, you can actually save the gorilla's home. I personally, have been using a phone for a few years now, and I haven't changed it, because it's w orking perfectly fine and I don't really use it. Not buying a new phone not only can help us save money, but also helps us to save metals and reduce our carbon footprint. Anyway, good luck!

I absolutely agree with you. Having the newest phone model is not a necessity if the one being currently used still works perfectly fine. After reading your comment, it makes me feel better knowing that I am lowering my carbon footprint by not causing the production of a new phone to be made.

I agree cause my parents do the same thing and they have me pay for it so im super carful not to break it and when you spend your own money on it you dont get the newest one cause you want money for other things
