Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Bikes
Hello! my name is Bárbara Machín. I'm from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. In my city, local government has put a new transportation in order to the people can move freely and without polluting... I'm talking about bikes. Local government has put 10 or 15 bikes stations throughout the city. People of legal age (+18) can use them. The only thing you have to do for use the bicycle is to register on line,And then you have to go find a card which shows that the owner of the bike is the person who uses it.
I think that it is a very good idea to pollute less!! People will do more exercice!!
yes Barbara Machín, is a good idea you pollute less!!!
Greetings from the USA. I find it very cool that your country has made public transportation very accessible to it's residents. I find it even better that is a type of transportation that doesn't pollute. I agree if people used bikes more it would heavily benefit the environment, and even reduce the user's carbon footprint. I think it could greatly benefit the USA, to implement our own system like this in urban communities. I will say however, the only flaw I see with this is that where I live in the USA it is not an urban area where you can easily reach your destination without a car. I live in a suburb, here everything is more spaced out and harder to reach in comparison to a place like New York or Chicago. Since this system wouldn't work well in the suburbs, do you have any other recommendations to help reduce their carbon footprints in an area where I live?
