Is having the latest technology a want or a need?
How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?

Phones and Climate Change correlations
In 2016 there were over 1 billion apple products active in the world. Yet very few people who own these products know what the result of their purchases does to add on to pollution. According to the guardian magazine "One estimate for the emissions caused by manufacturing the phone itself is just 16kg CO2e, equivalent to nearly 1kg of beef. If you include the power it consumes over two typical years (that's about how long the average phone remains in use, even though most could probably last for 10 years) that figure rises to 22kg."-(https://www.theguardian.com/environment … bile-phone). If you do the math for that and a billion iphones they 2.2e10 kg of carbon manufacturing and two year usage. Know im not saying you don't deserve the newest phone, but I want you tpo ask yourself do I need it?
I like how you included a quote from a magazine, that was fascinating to read. So many people have phones and it is ruining the air and environment. People aren't educated on how their purchases effect the environment.
Wow, that fact is appalling! It absolutely goes to show how important it is that having the latest technology isn't that important. i wish the companies such as apple improve their manufacturing ways to better help the environment.
How can we manufacture phones more effectively and cleaner?
