I believe that Americans can be extremely materialistic. People in many other countries can survive and live comfortably with half the amount of stuff that we buy. If we could show people how all the junk that they buy is affecting our earth, and the other organisms living on it, than that might be able to change their perspectives and they will be more mindful when considering buying a new device.
