Is having the latest technology a want or a need?
How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?

What's important?
I don't change often my phone because I think that until it works I can use it, although it could be a old model. But I know that the majority of the people change phone as soon as possible. Whenever a new model exits, everybody wants that because if you haven't that new model, you aren't fashionable. For example, every time that Apple or a big brand presents a new model, we see on TV that a very long queue is waiting outside the stores because they want at all costs the new model. I think that the people are too influenced by the publicity. Although they have a phone that works perfectly and isn't broken, they see the publicity of the new model that has a lot of new stuff and that everything has improved and they think "Oh, I absolutely must have the new model so everybody'll think that I'm so cool." The people that are especially influenced are the teenagers. They don't need a new phone, but they buy that just to be "cool", "fashionable", just to look good in front of the other people. In conclusion, I think that sometimes being cool is more important than saving the w orld. The technology has a big environmental impact, that's why we must try to buy less phones or computer or mp3. The world is important, being cool not.
