New Topic: Think Big!
Hello January ISCFC students and teachers!!
It's great to see you all discussing your footprints! A quick reminder that there are more than a dozen different conversation topics to choose from -- see the links at the right side of the page -- or if you're using a smart phone, click the "channels" link in the menu bar above. There's even an open forum where you can discuss whatever you want, including suggesting new topics to be added.
We just added a new topic called "Think Big" for you all to share and discuss your big and bold ideas for addressing climate change.
Here's mine:
Airlines should all charge for flights based on the amount of fuel they burn. The longer the flight - and the more transfers - the more expensive.
Also, there should not be a charge for differences between carry on and checked bags. All excess charges should be by weight of baggage (checked or not) - since the heavier the plane, the more fuel it burns.
And finally: there should be two kinds of plane tickets:
1) cheaper ones where you fly on a plane that will only leave when it is 90% full (more efficient!)
or
2) more expensive ones that fly on an exact schedule no matter how full the plane is (more fuel burned per passenger so more expensive).
Those are my Big Ideas! What do you all think - and what are yours?
