Thinking Big

Coming from researching, I found that in the ocean, there is a huge amount of plastic bags, bottles, etc. that is found entering the ocean almost each year. Maybe if we were to be exact, 4.8 million tons of plastic. I think that is way too much and we need to do something about it, and maybe for example, we should find a way to think big like flat out banning plastic bags in the United States. One fact I found is that Sun Chip's have substituted plastic bags for the 100% compostable bag that makes a huge effect and could start the difference. While I think this is a huge feat, it would be great to substitute plastic bags for 100% compostable bag, that will help our environment. Thinking about how many plastic bags we use, they will go nowhere at the end.

I agree that we need to do something about plastic in the oceans and it is a serious problem. It harms a lot of living things and habitats. It is also great the Sun Chip's have substituted their bags and I think every industry should do so. Using compostable bags would definitely reduce the amount of waste in landfills. Not only is the production of plastic harmful to the environment, it also takes a long time to break down. As caretakers of the earth, we should take out as much plastic in the ocean as we can and reuse our bags. We also shouldn't litter to reduce the risk of harm for living things.

i agree that we need to do something about the amount trash that is in the ocean. if I'm thinking big i think that buying plastic bags should have a higher out at stores so people might not want to buy them and thy are not good for too  long so people will stop using them, so changing the cost of them could impact the amount sold in stores
