Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Personal solutions for Reducing Carbon Footprint
I am a student from south China. My total carbon footprint is 23,689 kgs per year. It is quiet higher than the average of 2,338kgs for China. My personal solutions for transportation are using public vehicles, walking or riding bikes as much as possible. And reduce the times of traveling aboard because most of them need to take airplanes. For food, my personal solutions are eating more local and sustainable food instead of non-local and unsustainable food. For home, my personal solutions are using fans in stead of air conditionings. Because south China is very hot, I can't reduce the time for cooling our home. But we can use more efficient electric appliances. For purchase, my personal solutions are buy less clothes and electrons. In these way, I can reduce my carbon footprint.
