Promoting youth

As humans, if we really want to make positive environmental impact it all starts by informing and promoting the youth in our community and world about these pressing and dangerous environmental problems.  Developing crazy and innovative ways to be sustainable, wouldn't be possible without promoting and informing the youth. According to the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication 63% of total Americans know that global climate change is occurring but many do not fully understand it. Imagine the positive push forward and new possibilities for reducing climate change if 100% people knew that global climate change is occurring and understand the concept. I just found out about the impact of global warming and climate change my freshman year of high school. It shocked me the huge problems that were circulating around me and I never even knew about it. Since then I have been interested and willing to fight for a better Earth for the future. I believe many kids like myself experience the same predicament of being oblivious to these global problems and their huge gravity. T his could be solved by implementing it in school curriculum and by free public events in every area in the US. As time goes by the Earth becomes more and more effected, are you willing to spread and teach others about this issue?

I agree that awareness of environmental problems is crucial in building a sustainable future. Ecological education in school is definitely important for sparking a passion in the youth to work towards bettering the environment. I think that especially with the growing reliance on technologies to stay connected with the world, the use of social media is an effective way for young people, who are passionate about sustainability, to spread information about environmental issues.

I agree with Nick's point. It is important for youth to know about the things happening around the world epically about the global problems. If there can be more young people in the world following up with the news, there will be a huge change. According to what I read in the Field Notes about the youth and environment, the research found out that increasing number of youth participating in solving ecological problems by themselves can make a big difference in the world. Another benefit for the child to participate in such environment problem-solving process is that when kids are trying to come up with ways to solve the problem, the corporation is needed and is necessary. Making youth's ability to communicate with others better.
