Ideas for reducing carbon
There are many different ideas that we could use to help reduce climate change in the environment and carbon footprints. I think that we could start off by reducing the amount of plastic we use for plastic bags and one use water bottles. Instead of using plastic bags for groceries, we could use bags that could be reused many times or we could recycle the plastic after we use it. One use water bottles could be replaced with water bottles that you could refill and reuse.
Another idea is that we could start by talking to young children and other family members about reducing carbon footprint and teach each other about climate change.
Companies have already started to come up with ideas to replace the amount of carbon put out when we drive a car for transportation. Electric cars are an example of one such idea, these cars will better reduce the impact of transportation on climate change. As I looked at the results of my carbon footprint, I realized that the transportation category is a big part of it. In this article, https://energy.gov/eere/electricvehicles/electric-vehic le-benefits, they talk about the benefits of electric vehicles.
Another idea that will help reduce carbon footprints are reducing the amount of water we use. For example, instead of washing dishes while the water is running, we could start off by turning it off until we need to wash them under the water. Also, while we brush our teeth we don't need to let the water flow, we could wait until it is necessary to turn the faucet on.
One person can make a big change to the situation about climate change and if one person starts doing this, the ideas could spread to more people and this will greatly help strengthen the weakening environment.
Electric cars are actually not any better for the environment than gasoline powered cars are. This is because in order to get the electricity powering the electric cars, we burn coal which also releases harmful substances into the atmosphere. The only difference: one releases substances to gain the energy source, and the other releases substances after the energy source is used. MY CONCLUSION: you might as well save the money and stick with regular cars.
