Us and the World

How can a high school student make an influence? We believe change only happens if it is spread across the world. Yet, what we have to realize is what we do no matter how little or monumental, makes a difference. I don't want to sound too cliché, but it is amazing how so many mini actions can grow into a mountain of change. In the 8th grade, I was the ecology commissioner at my school. (However, I originally wanted to be president.) Life doesn't give hand you opportunities, you take them. As ecology commissioner, I aimed to promote and use this position to teach the younger kids how to take care of earth. I widen their view of not just recycling, but also environmental landmarks and animals as well. I knew since my audience was younger kids they wouldn't remember everything. Yet, I knew that the lower-classman would have a better understanding of the world around them. That experience also made me a better steward of the earth. To conclude, you don't have to be a top-notch environmental scientist or biologist who just figure out how to eliminate fuels for cars. (But you  can if you want) You can be a conscious protector of the earth who will educate and do their best in saving the earth. The earth is our home, and we all have the ability to help our beautiful land live on for generations.
