Better Energy Source

All negative connotations aside, nuclear energy is the best green alternative for the future. It works rain or shine, beating solar, wind, and hydro power as it works 24/7. Its incredulously safe contrary to the status quo's belief. After all, all nuclear disasters were caused by human error and nature, not the reactor itself. It has not killed anyone directly either. And it releases barely any carbon dioxide into the air while they build it. Apart from that it does not release any greenhouse gas. Already it is the 2nd main energy source for the U.S. only topped by fossil fuels. It is also a renewable energy source. There are reactors out there that take the nuclear waste to reuse, again and again until it is a non-radioactive material. With all this in mind, nuclear energy does more good than harm and should be the energy source for the future.

Yeah, but is there any way to counter the downsides of nuclear energy? For example, wouldn’t it be dangerous to build one and how are we going to pay for many of the nuclear reactors?

Once again you have been infected with the negative ideology the status quo has established upon you. It is not dangerous. Hiroshima, Chernobyl, and 3-mile Island- The three worst disasters in nuclear history have had no direct deaths, nor has any other disaster. Each of these events only occurred because of human error and for Hiroshima, a tsunami. In each of these events, either protocol was not followed or safety precautions were neglected, and people fail to realize this. Even now 90% of Japan is powered by nuclear energy. Yes it has a high cost, but with that thinking, you are saying you would rather put money above lives. Climate change will kill us all if we do not stop it, and you are worried about money? How are you going to pay for any other energy source? And please expand on the downsides of nuclear energy.
