Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Reduce daily usage of carbon

ChristalZ

My usage of carbon is highly over the average usage of individuals over the world.(like about 4 times higher) And for the first methods I think would reduce the usages of the un-return resources like carbon would be in transportation. Transportation is a huge part that we use carbon and oil and it is also the obvious one, take public transportation instead of riding our personal cars would really help to decrease the usages of the resources, riding a bike or walk would be a good idea if it's not a long distance. Flight also required a huge amount of oil and carbon, and due to the trips to other places I have done, flights also a large part in my total usage of carbon and oil, so I will try to travel by cars or buses if I can.
