Now that we see what our collective and personal impact is on the planet, let's think big!
What big and bold ideas do you have for reducing personal, community, country and even global carbon footprints?
Use this space to develop and discuss your big ideas! Who knows- maybe one of these ideas can be the next key solution to the global climate challenge!

put down the keys.
Try using public transit more often, i know people dont want to because they dont want to stand outside waiting for a bus, or be late to events because they missed the bus. and from my perspective, its not that bad. it all takes planning and organization. if you dont want to take the bus, at least carpool or drive less. the carbon footprint from transportation vehicles only is very high. so by putting down the keys and grabbing a bus pass will make a positive impact on this earth.
Yes! Public transit is great and an easy alternative solution to cars. Public transit is designed for people to get around the city so when people say that it's too far or too long to get to a certain destination, I think it's just an excuse.
yes
Yes, I totally agree. You can see public transportation in big cities like New York, but you rarely see public transportation in small cities or towns. However, I also think public transportation is changing from buses to more comfortable styles, such as Urbers and Lyfts. Unlike buses, this allows you to ride with the people you chose and you don't have to make stops. If you feel unsafe in these types of transportation, you can always carpool with other friends and family to maximize efficiency.
I agree that people should use public transportation more. because if more people took public transportation there would be fewer cars on the road, which would lead to a smaller carbon footprint. According to the Federal Transit Administration, "Transportation accounts for 29 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in the United States. By moving more people with fewer vehicles, public transportation can reduce greenhouse gas emissions" The quote shows that with fewer cars on the road our carbon footprint would be less. This would benefit the environment by reducing our carbon footprint, which would slow down climate change.
