The Green New Deal is a proposed program that would help address climate change and economic inequality. It would "upgrade our infrastructure, revitalize our energy system, retrofit our buildings, and restore our ecosystems." (https://www.sierraclub.org/trade/what-green-new-deal) It is a bold idea in order to stop financial inequality and climate change at the same time because they truly come hand in hand. It would offer more energy efficient homes, help communities withstand floods and hurricanes, give access to wind and solar power, replace lead pipes, clean waste sites, reduce air and water pollution from oil and gas, etc.
