Carbon footprint reduction
If We could develop a catalytic converter type device for our public and personal vehicles that could suppress or even eliminate our carbon output it would drastically decrease our carbon footprint.
What are some other ideas to reduce our carbon footprint?
There are many things that we can do to reduce our carbon footprint. For starters, conserving energy is a key component. Changing out old incandescent lightbulbs to newer, more efficient lightbulbs would reduce their carbon output. Also, turning off your lights when you aren't using them helps preserve energy too. Another way to reduce our carbon footprint is by burning less fuels. This being said, electric cars that don't require gas are much better for the environment. If buying an electric car is unrealistic, carpooling reduces the amount of cars on the road, less fuel burning. Other modes of transportation like taking public transportation, biking, or even walking also lowers the carbon dioxide that is produced. Additionally, reduce the use of plastic is a huge help. The ban of plastic bags, styrofoam, and soon to be plastic straws in California has significantly lowered our carbon footprint. By having less plastic, it isn't being throw into the oceans, and fa ctories don't have to burn fossil fuels to make it. Recycling is also a great was to reduce the production of carbon dioxide. It allows up to reuse materials that have already been created.
There are so many ways to reduce our carbon emission, and most of them are really simple but we forget ( or atleast i do). Turning off the water when brushing your teeth is a simple way as well as turning off the lights when they are not in use. Also, walking to destinations that are in walking distance. I have grown so used to uber, lyft, and driving that I rarely walk anywhere.
