Carbon Footprint
Hello! My name is Claire, and I live in Mooresville, NC. I'm 16 years old and I am a junior at Mooresville High School. My carbon foot print is relatively lower comparing to the rest of my school. My total carbon footprint is 13,643 kgs. Comparing to other schools in different states, my footprint was significantly low. The average footprint in my region is 15,918 kg. Most of it (in my region) came from home usage (6,149 kg). My carbon footprint was mostly the use of transportation (9,114 kg).This wasn’t very surprising, I drive a lot during the week. Between work and going out with friends, this footprint reflected my usage pretty accurately. I also learned the other types of usage (home, food, and purchases) were next to nothing compared to my transportation use. In saying this, one thing I could work on in the future is carpooling with friends instead of driving. I could ride a bike or walk to school instead of drive, and this would significantly improve my carbon footprint.
