My name is Jurnae. I’m from Mooresville, NC, USA. I’m 16 years old and my carbon footprint is 6,098 kg. It is lower than my region’s carbon footprint and schools outside of my state and country’s. My home footprint is the most out of all of my other footprints; it’s 2,572 kg. I expected my footprint to be low because I try my best to use my resources wisely and help the earth. I recycle almost all of my water bottles, which is a lot considering I'm a long-distance runner. I don’t travel unless I need to; I try to save as much gas as possible. I turn the water faucet off when I’m not using the water, even when I’m brushing my teeth. I only have the lights and television on when I’m using them. I'm rarely home because of sports and school, and I barely have time to watch television. I also reuse plastic bags from grocery stores. To decrease my carbon footprint, I could probably take shorter showers. I spend about 10 minutes in the shower. If I decrease the time by about 3 minutes, it would lower my carbon footprint for at home. My parents also leave the television on almos t all night when they're asleep. I could turn their television off when I know they are asleep. Lastly, I could change all of my light bulbs to LED light bulbs.

I like your ideas to reduce your carbon footprint. Shortening showers would be a great way to reduce water use (even if it is kind of hard.) I didn't even think about changing lightbulbs to LEDs, but that's definitely a great way to reduce electricity use as well. Those were both categories that I struggled with on my footprint, so I really like your ideas.
