One of the easiest ways for people to have a positive impact on an individual level is to use less energy.  Many people already think of energy as electricity, so convince people that conserving electricity will save them money and will also reduce the amount of energy their power plant needs to produce.  But fossil fuels are also burned in factories to make products that we use every day.  The saying "reduce, re-use, recycle" also applies to the ocean acidification crisis.  Using less products will lead to a decreased demand to create new product out of new materials.  Every person should be able to think of a way they can consume less in their daily lives. How to Help Stop Acidification in Oceans
     Ocean acidification is a big problem that we have to confront as world citizens. According to the article, Reduce Ocean Acidification, from nrdc.org, the main cause of ocean acidification is from burning fossil fuels. Fossil fuels have become such a large part in everyday life, that we barely stop and think about how much we really are using them. There are many ways we can prevent even more ocean acidification than there already is, and that is by being smart with how much energy we are using and how much fossil fuel we are burning. We need to help stop ocean acidification because it is damaging our oceans, and it will help us save and conserve energy.
         One of the many ways we can help prevent more ocean acidification is by carpooling with neighbors or friends. Carpooling may seem like no big deal, but it can have a seriously positive impact on the environment. By carpooling, you are reducing the very large amount of fossil fuels that are being embedded into the ocean, and will help with the mass production of CO2. A nother smart and easy way that we can help with the issue of ocean acidification is by not using the heat when you don’t need it. In the winter, for short period of time, it is ok to use heat, but for days at a time, that is a very vast amount of energy being used. All of the fossil fuels being used from the heat is then disposed into the ocean, creating even more ocean acidification.
     Lastly, another way to help stop ocean acidification is to create awareness about the large amount of waste we produce during sporting events. After a two day swim meet, the trash cans are overflowing with plastic water bottles and styrofoam food containers. If there were bottle refilling stations at sporting events, then the focus could be on the environment and helping reuse and recycle.

I completely agree with your argument. Going back to waste. As humans we create a large amount of trash, and every year its getting greater and greater. the average American creates 4.4 pounds (2 kg) of garbage a day, or a total of 29 pounds (13 kg) per week and 1,600 pounds (726 kg) a year. That's a huge amount of trash. Just adding to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. All that plastic and Styrofoam also adds to the extra acidity of the ocean. We all need to find a way to lessen the amount of waste we created. So we don't ruin our oceans anymore than we already have.

I agree, one of the reasons humans produce so many emissions is wrong the lac of knowledge about what it actually does to our earth, the more people know, the more they will be watch how much electricity they use. The other issue is that the ways we produce energy are all based in poor resource choices, coal and oil are terrible ways to produce energy. Oil and coal although their output in energy is not lacking, the amount of those resources are. Coal and oil will not be around forever and we need to find new ways of meeting our energy need without requiring non renewable resources. The fossil fuels also produce massive amounts of carbon emissions, the US and China alone make up more than 1/3 of all emissions. If these 2 countries could find better ways of producing energy the earth would be much better off.
