Cameron Mooresville, NC, USA
My name is Cameron and I am from Mooresville, North Carolina, USA. I am 16 years old and and attend Mooresville High School. My carbon footprint was 16,065 kgs which is a little higher than my regions footprint, which was 15,918 kgs. The majority of my footprint came from my home. What I didn’t realize, until now, is that we use a lot of lights in my house, which uses a lot of electricity and energy. I didn’t know that the lights that we used took up so much energy and were so bad for the environment. I did not expect my footprint to be as high as it was. I was really surprised by the fact that I was higher than the average because I was hoping that I wouldn’t be hurting the environment as much as I did. I think that now that I’ve learned how I’m impacting the environment, I’m going to be much more conscious of what I’m doing and what I can do to help. I can change the way I do things to make it better for the environment. I have already changed some things, by tu rning off the lights of a room when I leave, and I hope to make many more changes in the future to help the environment.
