Here's your chance not just to be the mayor, but the original city planner as well! Imagine a medium sized city that would be developed with modern, low carbon transportation in mind, and other strategies to reduce the average citizens' carbon footprints.
What would that city look like? Would that make you more likely to want to live there?

Sustainable City: The City of Timland
If I were to create my city, Timland, it would be as environmentally friendly as possible. The city's power grid would run on energy from environmentally friendly sources. All houses would switch to solar panels independent from the city's grid. The city grid would not run through residential areas because all houses would be required to have ample solar panels for their own power. The system of public transportation would be extensive, but free because it is paid through taxes. There would be less cars in the streets and all city taxis would be electric, using the energy from the city's grid run by solar and wind energy. Local parks would be full of trees, contributing to the city's great air quality. Farmer's Markets would be hosted at the parks twice a week so that Timland citizens would be able to buy local produce. Construction codes in the city would promote eco firendly building, as mentioned on the website "Sustainable Build". LEED certified buildings like Bishop O'Dowd High School's new C.E.S. would be necessary in the city building codes, ensuring that building s are at least semi-self sustainable. Also, there would be bike lanes on every rode, promoting travel by bicycle rather than cars. That is my Sustainable city.
I like the the idea of having all these environmental friendly sources of energy. Solar power is one of the easiest renewable energy the get but solar panel are not easy to get since they are expensive and most people can afford it. So if people afford to buy it the government should help build cities like timland instead of spending about 600 billion dollars on the military that only worsen the environment.
I like the idea of it but its too perfect
