Here's your chance not just to be the mayor, but the original city planner as well! Imagine a medium sized city that would be developed with modern, low carbon transportation in mind, and other strategies to reduce the average citizens' carbon footprints.
What would that city look like? Would that make you more likely to want to live there?

The Environmentally Friendly City of Sebapolis
If I were to create a city, with my role as a mayor, the city would be environmentally friendly but also would continue to serve the needs of the people. LEED certified buildings would be the norm, similar to the Academy of Science Building in San Francisco or Bishop O'Dowd High School's Center for Environmental Studies. I would provide expansive and affordable public transportation that would remove more cars off the road, and promote carpooling/public transportation. These trains would be electrically powered to minimize fossil fuel consumption. A recent article was released that discussed solar power-paneled roads, streets made of photovoltaic cells. I would try to raise enough funds through city taxes to implement these energy-capturing roads, so that energy bills for buildings in Sebapolis would be offsetted and the city would save a lot of money. Finally, I would construct many wind turbines along the bluffs/cliffs on the coast of the city to create renewable wind energy that could power the citizens' lifestyles and allow them to live comfortably. If the city looke d like this, I would definitely want to live there because it would provide a modern, comfortable lifestyle that still reduces the individual's carbon footprint and sustainably promotes human well-being.
I agree with you Sebastian, as urban cities are a large source of CO2 emissions since they are more densely populated than other areas. I especially agree with the public transportation, as my carbon footprint was very high with the transportation aspect of it, since I drive a lot (to school, practice, or anywhere else). Driving is my main mode of transportation, other than walking, since that is only to nearby places. I, for one, have never taken the bus in my home city, and I want to change my ways of transportation. Also, in the category of public transportation, I have seen bike rental stations in other cities, where people can rent out a bike to ride around the city and drop it off at another station somewhere else. This would further reduce the CO2 emissions and create a healthy environment in cities. I think your city of Sebapolis is a great example of the direction modern cities should look to for the future. I would definitely want to live there!
I agree completely, if you were able to create an efficient urban city that would be brilliant. I would say that the only thing that you would have to think about is how far the windmills and other alternative energy sources are. Before you think about that you would need a storage place to house all of this energy, and find someway to lower the consumption in batteries and how all of this power was distributed. Although this would destroy the beauty and elegance of a modern city you would want your energy sources to be as close as possible to said storage or where the source goes to.
If you can have energy made efficiently without emission you would want the least amount of this energy to get away. By shortening the pace between this said storage space and the producer of energy; you would gain large amounts of lost energy in the process from travelling from the coast line to a big city. Although this would be a major break through we haven't invented a method of transportation that as zero energy loss that is cost effective.
I agree that would all work but example wind turbines its not always windy some things we have now are more efficient and better
