Here's your chance not just to be the mayor, but the original city planner as well! Imagine a medium sized city that would be developed with modern, low carbon transportation in mind, and other strategies to reduce the average citizens' carbon footprints.
What would that city look like? Would that make you more likely to want to live there?

The Future of Sustainability
If I were mayor and city planner of a new sustainable city, I would focus on creating the least amount of a carbon footprint as possible. In addition, there would be affordable housing units in every section of the city. An increase in crime prevention and community pride would ensure a safe, well-run, sustainable environment.
The primary focus of sustainability is lower CO2 emissions through regulation of personal vehicles. All electric car owners would receive free public parking and unlimited use of the car-pool lane. Each home would be equipped with solar-energy panels and there would be designated areas on the outer edges of the city for wind turbines, creating another source of renewable energy.
In addition to the above, lots of parks and open space would be available for family gatherings. Farmers’ markets would offer locally-grown produce contributing to the health of the community. This new sustainable city would serve as an example for other cities and other countries around the world.
