Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon Footprint-Brea

breabrooks

My name is Brea I am 16 years old and I am from Mooresville, NC USA. My Carbon Footprint was higher than most of the people in my class. My total for my footprint was 20,622. Transportation was the highest category in the footprint with 11, 665. I am always on the move so it made sense that it was the highest. My reaction to the total of my footprint was shocking, I knew that it was going to be high but I didn't know it would be that high. My future actions to reduce my footprint is to try and not use as much lighting, and if I use lights I will try and get eco-friendly light bulbs in the house and use reusable water bottles.
