Here's your chance not just to be the mayor, but the original city planner as well! Imagine a medium sized city that would be developed with modern, low carbon transportation in mind, and other strategies to reduce the average citizens' carbon footprints.
What would that city look like? Would that make you more likely to want to live there?
Sustainable City >
Land Limit
In my sustainable city, there would be a limit to the amount of land your house can occupy in the city, so less trees and natural habitats need to be destroyed for land use in the city. Enough space would be provided for each residence to grow their own gardens to reduce the city's reliance on commercial grocery stores. Solar panels would be built on the houses to help make cleaner light and climate control.
I think your city sounds great! It's a great idea to provide areas for residences to grow their own food. Also limiting the amount of land your house can occupy is a good idea, because so many people build unnecessarily large houses that destroy the land and they cut down tress. However, getting people to switch to solar energy would be a challenge and would take time.
