Sustainable City

Here's your chance not just to be the mayor, but the original city planner as well! Imagine a medium sized city that would be developed with modern, low carbon transportation in mind, and other strategies to reduce the average citizens' carbon footprints.

What would that city look like? Would that make you more likely to want to live there?

The Future of Cars

AveryV17

Throughout the years, as environmental awareness has grown, the number and choices for sustainable cars has increased. Now, cars can run on environmentally friends power sources such as cooking oil and electricity. Tesla, a young motor company quickly approaching the vanguard of sustainable cars, has unveiled the first "pollution free, inside and out" SUV to hit the market. The innovate aspects of this new car, called the Model X, include an 8 year infinite mile battery, medical grade HEPA filter, and no gasoline engine. The signature version of the Model X is expected to cost around $140,000; however, Tesla plans on releasing a $35,000 baseline sedan (a price much more feasible for the average working American). This revolutionary car design helps to improve the environment through its use of battery power and reduction on CO2 emissions. When I calculated my personal carbon footprint, the transportation section was the largest and most consuming. People who participate in activities that require great amounts of transportation, such as myself, should look into purchasin g sustainable cars in the future in order to lessen our negative impact on the environment.

Tesla will lead the US market into all electric cars. Isn't it exciting!
