Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Adonis:: Mooresville, NC USA (Age 16)

Adonis35

Howdy, I am Adonis from Mooresville, North Carolina, United States of America and I am 16 years old.  My total personal carbon footprint was 18,652 kg. This above my states average of 15,918 and above the world’s average. The majority of my carbon footprint came from my home. I did not expecting my footprint to be that much higher than the average more so I am surprised by the high amount of food I consume compared to my region. I learned that some of my habits are hurtful to the environment and I will try to reduce some of those habits such as letting the water run and leaving my house lights on.
