Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Jacquelyn: Mooresville, NC USA (Age 17)
My carbon footprint was 12,474 kgs. In my region it was 15,918 kgs. My transportation was 4,793 kgs and North Carolina was 4,184 which I was above one. Home, food and purchases I was all below on. All together I was below the average because I was very below on home. We recycle a lot and try to use energy efficient light bulbs. In North Carolina, the biggest was home because I think many families don't recycle The majority of my footprint came from transportation because in my family, we all have a car and we don't carpool much. We also fly quite a bit.
My results were what I expected, I thought I would be under the average because we do a lot to try and help the environment when we can. I learned that we are above on transportation so we can work on that. We will try to carpool more to help save gas.
