Revolutionizing Transportation
If I had the ability to change one aspect of a city it would be transportation. According to one staggering statistic, more than a fourth of the United State's energy is used by cars, trucks, and buses. Moreover, the United States has a massive reliance on oil. My city would avoid using fossil fuels altogether by turning to renewable hydrocarbon biofuels. According to energy expert Gary Dirks, this fuel is carbon neutral so it avoids the drawbacks of oil which include air pollution, environmental concerns, and risks to our national security. Yes, the best part about this kind of fuel is that everything that it is made of: water, carbon dioxide, and sunlight- is plentiful. The way that biofuels are made are similar to photosynthesis. Lastly, this would completely improve my city by increasing the air quality. In a nutshell, biofuels are the future of mobile energy,
