Carbon isn't Cool
I'm from Florida in the United States, and it's no secret that year round, it can get HOT here. I know that's a big part of why my household carbon footprint was the largest part of the whole thing. It's why my carbon footprint is larger than the average person's in my region; my air conditioning system in my home is running to keep my mom and I cool for at least seven months out of the year. I found a website called Carbonrally where people can pledge to make different alterations to their lifestyle choices with the goal to reduce their carbon footprint. According to what they have to say about air conditioning, turning air up by two degrees for just one week could reduce a home's CO2 emissions by 5.4 lbs! That would be 151.2 lbs (68.6 kg) for the whole year for me. I'm certain if they made a few changes based on information on this site, anyone could make a significant reduction in their footprint.
